Hi everyone! I’m here in Paris, on my 14th day of quarantine, so far, I’ve only gone out twice to buy food, and each trip not lasting for longer than 30 minutes. I am ok, but I think, i’ll need to add some exercise in my daily routine. Maybe, tomorrow (I also said this since day 1 ahhhh!).
Bonjour à tous! Je suis à Paris dans mon 14ème jour de confinement, jusque là, je suis sortie deux fois pour faire des cours, et chaque déplacement ne dure pas plus de 30 minutes. Je vais bien mais je pense, j’aurai besoin d’ajouter des sports dans ma routine quotidienne. Peut être, demain. (J’avais dit ça depuis Jour 1! Ahhhhh!)
So, I did several masks recently, but I never got round to posting the tutorial as I was busy. Well, it was also a blessing in disguise, because I found an easier option. I’ll link the video here. But in my case, I took the option of placing wires for the nose part out. I don’t know about you, but at this point, I can’t even get paperclips in my local supermarket…it will be trickier to get those wires. And with the masks I’ve been using, it does not really drop off without the wire. By the way, if you’re from Paris, do you buy food/groceries online or do you go to the stores?
J’ai donc fait plusieurs masques récemment, mais je n’ai jamais pu poster le tuto car j’étais occupé. Eh bien, c’était aussi une “blessing in disguise”, car j’ai trouvé une option plus facile. Je lierai la vidéo ici. Mais dans mon cas, j’ai pris l’option de placer des fils pour la partie avant. Je ne sais pas pour vous, mais à ce stade, je ne peux même pas avoir de trombones dans mon supermarché local … il sera plus difficile d’obtenir ces fils. Et avec les masques que j’utilise, ça marche bien sans le fil. Du coup, si vous êtes de Paris, achetez-vous de la nourriture / épicerie en ligne ou allez-vous dans les magasins?

Cut a rectangle measuring 40 cm x 20 cm. Overlock/zigzag the edges.
Coupez un rectangle mesurant 40 cm x 20 cm. Overlock / zigzag les bords.
Join the edges that you have just overlocked/zigzagged with their right sides facing. Sew 1 cm from the edge and 4 cm from the top and bottom.
Joignez les bords que vous venez de surjeter / zigzaguer avec leurs côtés droits face à face. Cousez 1 cm du bord et 4 cm du haut et du bas.
Once it’s sewn, you will have a gap in between…that will be your pocket’s hole. Open the seams and iron.
Une fois qu’il est cousu, vous aurez un espace entre les deux … ce sera votre ouverture de poche. Ouvrez les coutures et repasser.
Turn it over so that right sides of the fabric are out and top stitch on both sides of the seam.
Retournez-le de manière à ce que les côtés droits du tissu soient sortis et surpiquez les coutures des deux côtés de la couture.
When finished, fold it so that there is 1 cm of seam on top of the pocket’s opening. This will be the upper portion of your mask.
Une fois terminé, pliez-le de sorte qu’il y ait 1 cm de couture au-dessus de l’ouverture de la poche. Ce sera la partie supérieure de votre masque.
Note: this is the part where I skipped making the space for the wire compared to the original video that I based it on.
Remarque: c’est la partie où j’ai sauté en créant de l’espace pour le fil par rapport au tutoriel d’origine sur lequel je l’ai basé.
Top stitch all around the four sides 0,5 (for the top and 0.75 cm from the rest of the edges.
Surpiquer tout autour des quatre côtés 0,5 (pour le haut et 0,75 cm du reste des bords.
Make pleats according to your preference, for me, I prefer to do 3 pleats.
Faites des plis selon vos préférences, pour moi, je préfère de faire 3 plis.
