Sewing Technique That Saves Me Time

Hello!!! Sorry for the long hiatus…I’ve been super busy now that our lives are starting to get back to normal in Paris. By the way, if you don’t know already, I have another blog, click here, where I talk about other stuff aside from sewing.

Ok so where was I? Ok, so during confinement, I’ve been making a lot of masks, and I barely have time to cut the extra strings. I saw this technique from old sewers before but I did not really see the advantage until now.

So first let me tell you how I do it.

So when you’re about to reach the end portion of the item that you’re sewing, you have to place the next piece immediately. See picture below:

The end result should look something like this:

Now, you don’t need to cut long strands of threads in between. Annnd, you don’t risk that the thread gets out of your needle as it is too short. You can sew faster and also save on thread.
