Hi! Finally, we are placing the straps on the bag. It might seem confusing while you’re reading this, but I promise, it makes more sense when you’re actually sewing the item and seeing how it works in person.
Open the bag flat showing the inner side of the bag and the outer side (pink and green sides). This is the time you can insert the magazine or folder inside this so that you don’t accidentally pin top and bottom sides of the bag by mistake.
See the white notebook with metal straps in this pic that i inserted. I picked something with plastic as it’s more durable when i pushed the pins later.
Pin the straps on their corresponding side and sew covering the sides of the pockets. (Sorry if this is confusing as I used different prints, just imagine I used green on green and pink on pink.)
It’s ok if you just sew right where the straps meet. You can sew them together later.
Once you’ve sewn one side (green side) you can now go and sew the other side (pink side).
Once you have attached the 4 straps in all sides (including the bottom part of the bag), cut a square (2 x 2 cm on all corners). Turn your bag reverse side out .
And they should now look like A and B.
So now, fold it so that A side, lines up with B side. See right picture, B side is now on top of A.
They should now look like this.
This is how it looks when both corners are sewn.
Sew the bottom side of this closed. (Note, we are on the pink side and we are sewing just one side of the bag).
Now, we proceed to sew the corners of the green bag. Do the same step. Sew A and B sides together.
Now all corners are sewn! But before you fully close the bag, we must turn it right side out first.
And it should look like this:
Once the entire bag is out, you can now sew the opening at the green side closed, like this:
Voila, it’s finished!
Finally, our bag is done!
